In this transition year, I have partnered with Board member, Al Angell, to sponsor the Tortoise and Hare Walking-Runathon which will raise funds for a new Martin E. Hawkins Scholarship Fund to continue my passion to educate servant leaders. Scholarships from your donation will go toward funding at least 20 students to participate in this special scholars’ program. The Walking-Runathon project will end in May 2021, however the scholarship will continue in perpetuity. I solicit not only your immediate financial support to help launch this scholarship fund, but your recurring support to help keep it solvent for years to come!
As of March 30, 2021 I have already walked some 2,300,000 steps and will continue to accrue steps until the conclusion of the project. That is quite a commitment for a 79-year-old senior! However, I cannot do this alone. I need you. Your gift toward the miles that I walk will directly go to this scholarship fund. Will you support me in this effort? Our initial goal is to raise $250,000 for the Martin E. Hawkins Scholarship Fund.
This fund is in the name of SBIC's fourth president Dr. Martin E. Hawkins.
These gifts will help to continue his legacy and passion to educate
servant leaders with a biblical education through Southern Bible Institute & College.
